Islamabad United has been re-branded for the new decade after the PCB confirmed that the 2016 PSL’s champions have extended its franchise rights from 1st January 2020 for another ten years, joining Peshawar Zalmi in confirming their place till at least 2030.
The three-time PSL winners will move forward under the current ownership as the league aims to increase from six to eight teams in the near future.
PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has lauded owner Ali Naqvi for sticking with the PSL from its first edition. It’s a demonstration of real confidence in its future direction and commercial growth,” he said.
PSL CEO Salman Naseer also referred to the brand that Islamabad United have built and played a key role in imprinting the league with them performing well, then embraced an innovative culture of cricket.
Terms of the new deal were not disclosed.

- Quetta Gladiators
- Peshawar Zalmi
